Lagonda
Le Mans V12
1938
Lagonda's 4.5-litre V12 was designed by W.O. Bentley after he moved to the firm in the mid-1930s, and is widely held to be one of the finest British engines of the pre-war years. A pair of V12s took third and fourth places at Le Mans in 1939, the last running of the race before the war closed the circuit for a decade.
